Daewoo DPC-7400 portable DVD player

I keep charging the battery pack of this player, and about 15 minutes after I disconnect the charger, with the player switched off, the battery is flat again. Is there any way I can revive the battery; a replacement pack costs �55 on eBay, which seems rather a lot for a few NiMH cells!
