Tyre Pressures - Motorway Speeds
4 Answers
Can anyone help settle a question. Modern cars go much faster than most older ones, and generally the manual gives details about tyre pressures, with different pressures being given for when the car is fully laden.
Am I imagining this, but going back quite a few years when cars could not so easily achieve high speeds, was it the case that the manual used to give pressures for normal speeds, and a different pressure for what it classed as "Fully Laden/Motorway Speeds?
My friend has never heard of pressures being quoted for "motorway speeds". Over the years, things change, and no doubt tyres can more easily cope with high speed, but I am intrigued to find out if my memory is correct. Thanks
