Long term car rental in France

My sister is going to rent a house for 6 months in France. She is looking to hire a car or lease one. I've said I'll do some research on the Internet for her, but all the rental ones seem to be expensive, and the leasing ones that I've looked at so far are all for non-EU residents.
Can anyone come up with any good websites or suggestions? She is hoping to rent near Poitiers, and she would prefer a left-hand-drive. Merci! Muzz
