Renault Laguna Central Locking

I have a 'V' reg Laguna, the key fob has stopped working, so I have to use the central locking switch inside the car. No real problem however I am worried in case the immobiliser clicks in and I cannot reset it. Any suggestions on how to cure the problem without resetting engine management. PS Have obviously changed batteries in the fob, red light flashes when button pressed, and infra red shows through lens of phone camera

try having the key reprogramed to the cars management system changing the batterys in the key sometimes put the key and ignition at odds with each other best of luck
