can you change tie rods on all mk5 fiestas as the one on mine has no grooves to grip it with

if you mean the track rod (ie rack to track rod end), yes you can.

use a stilson wrench if accessible,if not, then a hammer and long chisel/screwdriver have been successful in the past.
