Not sure but maybe if the fine is hefty enough, it will stop your speeding and make the roads you drive on safer, for others - speed limits are there for a purpose, and if more people had observed the limits and other rules, then maybe the almost 18 year old (1984) son of mine would be alive today aged 43 with a family and grandchildren for me. It's true what they say "SPEED KILLS"
Buenchico: & others
it appears that using the calculator for excess speed on a non motorway the max fine is 1000
motorway 2500
so don't speed on the motorway, do it elsewhere.
very strange !
you should get a letter from the boys inblue asking you if you were driving at the time you were flashed look forward to hfine and points on you licence ( just like me)
You'll probably get a fine and 3 points on your licence but depending on how much over the speed you were some police authorities are offering offenders the opportunity to attend a one day speed awareness course in lieu of a fine. Look up your own police area website and see if there's any mention of speeding and the course on there.
^ I didn't get offered the chance to do the speed awareness course... I was told because I was too far over the 30mph limit... had I been caught doing under 35mph it would have been offered as an alternative to the fine/points...
Maybe nothing. I got flashed for the first time ever in February doing about 50 in a 40. I figured I had blown it and was about to lose my tattered green licence issued in 1977, but I heard nothing.
BTW, to clarify, I know you only get points, I am on about the actual licence, not the right to drive.
