Hi there fellow AB's

My question today is relating to car insurance.

I am travelling to Scotland next week and a good friend of mine has kindly offered to lend me his 4X4. How do I confirm that the insurance will cover me?

I drive a company car therefor have company insurance, the friend who is lending me the vehicle owns his own business and the car is on the business insurance policy.

I have had insurance problems in the past and want to be crystal clear this time!!

Id have thought the best people to ask is your insurance company.Or it might be his responsibility. In the past I have been away with my sister and added her to our policy for the week.It didnt cost any extra. As its your friends car its probably best he does the same.
It is your responsibility as the driver to make sure you are insured to drive it, you're the one that will be prosecuted if you aren't.
Your company insurance is not going to cover you to drive a non-company vehicle on non-company business.
His insurance won't cover you to drive as you are not driving it on business related to his company.
Your friend should either contact his insurance company to specifically get you covered to drive that specific vehicle, or use a short term insurance like this.

Thanks for the advice, the short term insurance idea is a brilliant idea. Better safe than sorry!
