My 1980 TR7 has suddenly refused to start, would appreciate any help. When you switch it on all the ign lights come on,then nothing when you turn the key.I have tried by-passing the earth strap and a wire across the ign switch but again nothing. When you try the key the lights dim slightly but don't go out.I haven't had the starter off yet(it's in an awkward place)but there is power to it.That's about all I can think of.Thank Mick.

If you can get near the starter-motor, check to make sure that the 2 wires are a tight fit on the solenoid if they are then it sounds like a flat battery which is easily checked by a tester at a garage. Try jump leads from another car first if it works then it is the battery.
