Disconnect the battery and bolt the starter into place. There will be two wires from the car's loom, one thick and probably red with a ring connector on the end, the other thinner and with a female spade connector on the end. These will probably be wrapped together a few inches from the ends.
You will probably find that the thicker of the two will have become shaped over time so that it reaches a particular terminal on the starter motor with a brass nut and washer on it if you move the wire towards the starter motor; bolt it on. The thinner wire with the female spade connector fits a flat terminal that is bent out from the end of the body of the starter motor. Again, you will probably find that the thinner wire hangs near the relevant terminal once you've bolted on the thicker wire.
Once you're happy, reconnect the battery and give it a go.
I hope it works.
