Not precisely.
A faulty Lambda sensor will result in the wrong air/fuel mixture being fed into the engine which will cause lumpy idling or possibly stop the engine running at all.

The usual symptoms would be increased fuel consumption, lumpy idling and increased emissions.

... and quite possibly an engine checklight

misfires on modern engines are often caused by plug coil-overs, or HT leads (if they exist) or electronic HE coil systems (like some Rover engines have, for instance)

yeah theres a loss of power then it will be ok but there does seem to be a funny smell whilst it misfires like eggs and it had been using more fuel.
