Audi A3 TDi Start Problems

2 weeks ago had the frst starting problem with My car.

AUDI A3
1.9 TDi 130bhp
2002

1st the starter motor didn't turn the engine.
Starter motor fitted. - problem not solved, but now the engine turns.

Crankshaft sensor fitted as the computer reported an error in this sensor Problem not solved.

When I turn the key, the engine turns, but there's no starting. sometimes after some fight, it starts!

It's the same if cold of warm!
Any suggestions?

Going to AUDI on Monday for a diagnostic, but would appreciate any suggestions from you.

One of your heater plugs is U/S If you intend to change them, change the lot at the same time. you can get them from a spares shop far cheaper than a dealer Its not that hard a job to do. Can be done within an hour.

To add, was there a cold snap ( Freezing in your part of the country) If that is the case, check your battery, Is the distilled water up to the mark on the inside of the battery? are the belts tight? check the connections at the battery! but that might have been checked when they fitted a new starter.
