vauxhall corsa timing marks
1.0 lt corsa 12 valve 2oo2 3 cylinder, timing marks..do the camshaft slots at the rear have to be horizontal with lobes facing outwards on the cylinder nearest the water pump.., the crank locking pin locates at the front but which cylinder is number 1..the crank drive belt pulley has a notch for some reason this only fits the crank mounting bolts 180 degrees out..please help with this ridiculous design..

I take it your engine code is X10XE.
To establish the correct timing position,the following condition need to met,
the camshaft locking plate in slot on both camshafts to top of cyl head.
crankshaft locking pin on bolt plug near the oil dip stick tube on side of eng block.(TO OBTAIN tdc on cyl 1) remove false bolt to push in pin to lock on crank web.

timing disc inlet sprocket.
