spray paint

vandals have spray painted some lines over my van. does anyone know how to remove it .or does it have to be rubbed down and resprayed professionally.any advice would be appreciated

first thing i would try is Tcut or another make of rubbing compound on a small area.

You need to know what van is painted in. Newer types are water-based. In an inconspicuous area, try some brushwash on a soft cloth. If you see colour or dulling surface, stop right there. It may remove it, so long as base coat and clear coat is not new or soluble by the brushwash.

hi thanks for your help.tried some tcut and it has removed it a treat i think because the van was dirty the spray paint didnt adhere properly to the van paint. took me about 1hr to remove van looks good again. once again thank you both for your ideas.
