that got you guessing. OK - HOW & where do you drain the water out of the fuel filter on a
diesel Suzuki Swift 1.3DDiS - 08 reg - it is suggested in the owners manual, but doesn't tell you where it is situated - it is i am told a Fiat engine -turbo diesel of course.
T I A - GSR600
ps: i have asked this question on the Suzuki Swift forum, but no response.
Locate the diesel filter in the engine bay,the water separater is at the bottom, you will notice a hand screw plug of sorts undo this screw for a minute or so , ensure its firmly re-tighted.
zac - i have just got the car - and am not sure that the service has included this,
its got 20k on it, i know diesel does have water in it at times - so i wish to do this myself as with most of my vehicle maintenance, rather than get the garage to do it (time/money) for something so trivial, and the next service is 7k away.
im not sure of any modern diesel that has a water drain off, the last i remember was the 2.5di Transit.I ran a Citroen diesel van with a 120,000 miles on the clock, changed the fuel filter every 6-7000 miles certainly never drained any water off.
my staff service Ford/Vauxhall/SAAB/ Mercs diesels regularly and i dont ever recall seeing anything about water drain off on any of the service sheets.
