I recently brought a car completed all the reg document kept the new owner part and the seller took the remainder of the form to post, that was 6 weeks ago I contacted the seller of the car to ask if he had sent off the reg doc he said he had, so i contacted the dvla to say I had'nt received the new one and it seems they never received it so i have to pay £25 for a new one, so do I take it that this means you have to trust the person that sells you the vehicle to post it off, not saying he did'nt of course just seems a bit unfair if he did'nt that i have to pay for a new one, what sort of rule is this?

i thought the new owner has to send it off?
sounds like this seller is in some way trying to scam you or something.

Be careful he does not cause problems for you and sorry I have nothing to say about log book as I have never problems with one
As long as you have the new owner part of the document and send it with your application it shouldn't cost you anything.

no bedknobs the seller is suppose to send it off and leave the buyer with the new keeper supplement part, its in the sellers interest to send it off as the vehicle is still in their name I could be getting up to all sort of tricks in it, thanks Andy for answer very helpful.
