I have just had to update the photograph on my driving licence and guess what I did? (loud screams as I kick myself) I sent them my little plastic wallet didn't I? For the benefit of the uninitiated, DVLC no longer issue these and once they get hold of your current perfectly good one they refuse to return it. As everyone knows the card they issue is so small it cannot be trusted not to wander and needs to be anchored to something bigger.

No doubt these cheap plastic wallets can be obtained for a small fee, you may be suggesting. No. Some people on ebay and amazon are selling them for upwards of £9 when p&p is added. Anyone know where a reasonably priced one can be got? Thanks.

Can't you just put both into an A4 display wallet, fold it over and secure it with a paper clip?

DVLA haven't issued the plastic wallets for many years, so any that you buy from ebay will be old and brittle.

Almost every 'cheapo shop', 'pound shop', '90p shop' and 'discount store' in the country will sell you a perfectly usable plastic wallet for your driving licence photocard and counterpart, for very little money.

Maybe its the DVLC selling the ones they've confiscated from unsuspecting people like me!
