Service costs of a new vw golf?

I am going to lease a new golf and am unsure of whether to have maintenance payments in as they bump up the price by around �50 a month. Is it what it? What are VW service costs? I recently had my 18000 mile service on a new clio and it cost �180 but surely VW don't charge the �600 I would save in a year?

Why don`t you ask them what the maintenance payments cover, is it just servicing or does it include the cost of replacing wear items such as tyres etc.If not then on the face of it, it would appear steep.
