torque wrench estimation

does anyone remember the rule of thumb for if you dont have a torque wrench- 5 lb/sq inch = little finger only, last two fingers = 10, up to 4 fingers = 40, and whole hand 50- something like that?

using what? a 3 inch spanner or a 4 foot wrench as it's kinda doing to make a huge difference.
new one on me, certainly wouldnt dream of taking the risk of guessing
Surely blimbyre, the purpose of using a precision instrument is that you can measure precisely. Why not just use the scale on the handle.
