I have a code 12 on the air bag system for my 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis. It appears that this code means low battery voltage. What does it usually take to fix this problem? Is it usually a lose connection or a component failure?

Thanks,

Michael

You can make sure that the battery is holding the correct voltage with a voltmeter.  If it is then the system needs to be checked with a diagnostic computer.  However, if you do have a faulty battery and put in a new one then the airbag light won't go off.  The system stills needs to be plugged into a diagnostic computer if only to reset the fault.
