When staring, all I get is a clicking noise and have had to jump start, is it the starter motor or the battery/alternator?

If you get a clicking noise when turning the key, and then after getting a jump start from another car the engine starts, your battery is dead, time to get a new one.

Exactly the same thing happened to me recently, charged the battery and started like a dream that evening - , the next day it was back to just the clicking sound again - got a new battery and its sorted.

have you tried to clean the battery terminals, making sure they are tight
