Motorbike category Codes on my provisional licence

hello,

hope someone can help me.

I have just received back my provisional licence back after sending it off for an address change. I do not drive, I use it for motorbike riding.

It has come back and is showing "Motorbike Cat A". Have the dvla got this way wrong, because to me this is unrestricted and I only hold a cbt for up to 125cc.

Can someone shed some light on this? I have no plans on rushing out and getting a big bike due to a clerical error. I do plan however to have my license updated to be correct if necessary.

That's unusual, for a few years now a lot of experienced motorcyclists have been sending their full licences to DVLA for updating and they have been returned with the motorcyclist entitlement removed !

Quite a few have had to take the test again, I should quit while you are ahead and keep what you have got.

I am sure the Motorcyclist News would like to know about this.

Can anyone confirm that their licence shows A1 if they only have a cbt?

this is exactly the same as mine, I got my first provisional license about 3 years ago and I hadnt taken my CBT yet, I have it now, but my license shows Cat A for motorbikes, B for cars, and F,K, and P.
what does it mean , am I now able to ride normal power bikes ? I only have a 125 with "L" plates, but Im confused.
