Bad Hair Day....

This sounds to me a very strange 'car' problem - but for the 4th occasion in about 3 months I have had a trail of long grey/black 'hair' like substance hanging out of my exhaust. It is very silky and authentically hair-looking.

Anyone got any ideas as to this could possibly be? At first I thought it was a joke, then a very hairy rodent - now I am just bamboozled.
