can anyone tell me what the rules are about sleeping the odd night on a public road parked up im my volkswagen caravel?or would the police move me on i have heard you can spend up to 30 days in one spot ?
also if i spent the night with someonewould i get done for some indesent act or course with curtains closed ! thanks

Of course different from a HGV it was not that often that I parked up in lay bys for safety reasons, whilst you are asleep there is every chance some b@stard will steel your wheels ( No I'm not joking) might rob you, it has been known that Drivers have been awaken thinking they are talking to the police to find that the persons are there to rob you, myself, I used to park in Ind estates with, at times CC-TVs present around the area, I am not trying to frighten you but you have to think about safety on this one, also don't forget this important issue, if you have had a drink or 3 the police can do you for been in charge although you may have your underpants on, if you think this is not the case ask the police, one of our drivers was put in cells overnight but was not breath tested but I am going back 20+years.

TWR is right, you can be done for drunk in charge of a vehicle, even if you have no intention of turning the engine on.
