As you may know, I went to see harry potter at the weekend. After it finished, my friends mum gave us a lift a home. However the door on my side wouldn't open, and still won't!

What could cause this? . . .

. . . there is no childlock mechanism, we tried locking it and unlocking it. And opening it from in/outside. it's a complete mystery . . . . . In the end, instead of dropping me off at the end of my road, they took me up into my driveway, so that I could get out of the other side safely, without having to walk out into a main road . . .

Horseshoes, we missed you, but be glad you weren't here over the weekend. We won't go over it again, but it was horrid, This post is very welcome light relief - well done molly!

Boxtops may have stumbled across the answer earlier ... Molly, have you tried giving it a hefty kick?
Just to clarify - said hefty kick needs to be delivered from the INSIDE. Not the outside.......
Percussive maintenance does not discriminate between inside or outside. The important thing is knowing where to kick it ... and how hard.
I was thinking what a massive dent it might leave if you delivered a hefty kick to the outside of the door. But I do like my paintwork "just so". Fussy cow, me.
i think a good kick from inside would be best unless molly's friend has a car that has doors that open inwards
:-) Good point. We do need to know what car is in question and if a hefty kick would decrease it's value (or increase it).
hahahaha at SB and Bernie what a kick you must get each time Molly posts -I do - at you 2 grown ups expence:))))
Molls -guess the pertinent advice given would have been what I would have said -my double glazed house windows were frozen shut and I have had the heating on virtually all the time.Think they have to apply WD40 once they get it open -cant freeze oil - or can you?
Yes, you can freeze oil ... but you wouldn't want to be opening doors if it were that cold anyway.

I just got this message from my friend; Its fixed now, apparently its a common problem with the make of car, when my mum told the mechanics, they just laughed as they get it all the time :)
