When taking the theory tests and hazard perception tests do you get the results same day or are they sent out by post only?

Mr CRX has his HGV ones today and Im wondering if he will know straight away or if i have to endure a few days of him being anxious for results lol

Straight away.

I did my motorbike test a few years ago, and had to take the theory test.
Yep straight away.

The hazard perception is completely pointless imho.

thanks, JJ :)

that was one thing i was dreading when i wanted to take bike test. Luckily for me i fell pregnant so never got further than trying to take CBT lol

Heres hoping he passes now then
You two are too cool. I wish I had a bike licence.
I think so too, milly.

It's a bit too subjective.

he was practising the hazard one last night. Seems to me that you can fail by being to wary but as theres no real rules to follow how can you tell.

Milly, i dont have a bike though, never got far enough and with kids its now almost impossible. I think i shall remain a pillion when i get chance.
Milly ... why not do it?

I did the "Direct Access Scheme". You do 5 days of lessons (over 3 weekends) and then take the test.

And I am now ... Biker Chick !! ... Yaayy

red ... the Theory Test was really, really easy (it might be harder for HGV, I don't know). You have 30 minutes. I took about 10 minutes to finish it. You can get DVDs to practice the theory questions, and they are just like doing the test itself.

Go on guys ... do it !!

the dac is a geat way to go but will cost you at least 500 squid. having said that, if you have the means, go for it.
A coupel of reasons really JJ. Firstly, the cost. I need my car for work and I don't think I could afford to run a bike too.

My Dad has a sports bike that I have always loved and he says it's mine when I want it but sadly I will need to grow about a foot before I could actually ride it. If I had a bike I would want a 'proper' bike and it seems hard to find one that suits my 5'2.

ah, now this is where Im a lucky girl. My Brother in law is a Bike instructor! :)
when kids are older i may well get on with it and get a bike.
redhelen ...

I've borrowed a Ducati a few times from a pal's husband. It's really sexy.

I've got a Yamaha Fazer, but that was a mistake. It's horrid.

I'd love something like a pink Harley, just to be eye catching.

But, being practical, I might buy a Triumph Tiger ... they're totally gorgeous (although it's a bit hard to touch the ground when you stop).

I bought some super hot pink and grey "camo" pattern kevlar jeans last year. I love them.

plenty of bikes are fine for someone of 5'2", milly. Some can be lowered easily as well.

The CBF and the R6 are two bikes that my friends with shorter legs have got

But i agree with the cost aspect. Unless you are going to use them instead of car they are a bit of luxury purchase.
Ankou ... yes, it was about £500.

But I think it was worth it.

Once you have a licence, you can just bowl up at motorbike dealers and take big, growly bikes out for test rides.

which fazer is it JJ? with have the gen 1 fazer 1000 and love it. Mind you, its had a lot of work done to get it running as Mr CRX likes it. Plus hes a big guy so a huge heavy bike is perfect for him
Actually Red, you're right. Being the defeatest that I am I have never really looked at it properly.

My Dad has a Triumph Sprint and I've often considered just getting a big pair of platforms. lol. I have my own bright pink helmet and it's soooo under used. I still make sure it's polished nicely though. :o)
red ...

It's an FZ6 ... whatever that means.

The main thing I don't like is the "sporty" riding position. You have to lean forward to hold the bars, and the seat slopes forward a bit. I don't feel very safe. It's like you're looking straight at the road in front of your face.

I like to sit a bit more upright, and have the bike in front of me, not underneath me. I'm a bit of a fraidy cat.
oh yes, definately worth it.

theres a dealership group in peterborough that will allow bikes out for the day at about £60. Friend of mine often takes them out for a test drive and puts a few hundred miles on them lol

milly, theres nothing worse than a dirty pink helmet :)
