parking ticket
Hi
a query for you , i was picking my mam up from outside a shop today, i was on double yellow lines with car ticking over and sat in driving seat, literally for 2 mins, i spotted a person who looked like a council warden officer? (think thats what they are called) this person was on other side of roundabout across the road from me say about 60 feet away, i drove off but noticed she had some kind of device in her hand and was looking at my vehicle and others parked nearby, do you think it likely that i will get a ticket through the post? or am i being paranoid? i hold my hands up, i know they are there for a reason and i cant complain if i do but i was just wondering...if i do get a ticket how much is it? ive heard its reduced if paid within 14 days, thanks for your replies

Hi
in answer to manta and old wos, i know i was in the wrong by being stationary on the double yellow lines, and this in itself is a finable action, wether i was just sitting there for a few mins or not, i was still stationary where i shouldnt have been, i accept that, the signs stated no loading at any time, which i guess interprets no hanging around for whatever reason, i think the only drivers who can legally park, be stationary on double yellow lines were disable badge holders.
i spoke to a policeman today and explained everything to him, he said not to worry, he certainly does not seem to think i will get a ticket and there were far more things to worry about. and that if i should get a ticket which he very much doubts, to certainly challenge it as the ticket should either be placed on the car itself or at the least handed to the driver of the car concerned.
i can only wait and see
