Try these websites for info.
As SPECS cameras are digital and don't need film they work 24/7. They are there for your safety and (more importantly) those of the road crews so the pple you see driving above the posted limit are risking their licenses.

ungrateful git - he answered your question in his 1st sentance yet you still abuse him!
Of course they work!

thousands of people get caught and fined for speeding every year. They wont all have dodgy numberplates or be unaware. Many will just be drivers who think they are above the law and dont care about speeding, or are too busy making calls and fiddling with their satnavs to bother takling in whats going on around them

i meant has anyone actually PERSONALLY been nicked by one.....

but i take your point....despite the aire of sarcasm within said reply
Hi eyebrows - yes I have been personally nicked in one of these when they were at the thelwall vialduct on m6. I got clocked by the last camera because I was speeding up when in sight of the end of the roadworks sign. There would have been many others done same way.

There was a good ending because I was never prosecuted when I opted to be taken to court.
and so have i you to$$er,leave my mate toureman alone or your be for the noose.
If you are fairly intelligent you can happily speed through SPEC cameras as they can only monitor one lane - so changing lanes at the right times will avoid tickets:

Maybe the people who are speeding read papers or watch the news?

{please note I am not condoning speeding - just answering the question}
i haven't been "nicked" ["busted" here in the states ;)] over here across the pond. there's a show here in the states called mythbusters that did a test on the cameras and could find no way to beat them. but, like the one guy said, you may be observant enough to see where they're aimed at and be in the other lane. i wouldn't recomend it though because some of those cameras can be remotely controlled to look at different lanes. the ******** are really trying to keep us from speeding. ;)
