declare conviction for careless driving?
my friend has applied for a job as custody officer...she stated that she had no convictions on the form....now she remembers that she did have 1 for careless driving in 1997.....she seems to think that other wise she has the job or so she has been told.....she is just waiting on security clearance/check coming back.....any answers to this?

When you join the police ( I assume its police custody officer ) an enhanced CRB check is done. If the applicant is totally honest when applying the employer judges the application as a whole. However if they try to hide anything a very dim view is taken. The best thing to do is get her to contact the employer and admit her earlier mistake. it maybe deemed as a postive move to admit her mistake now than hoping for the best. Convictions for driving offences are no usually a reason for refusing employment where assaults, theft, dis honestly would be.
