This question follows one on Friday put here.
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Motoring/Road-r ules/Question586606.html Today I went to a town where I went through a Controlled Zone notice as I entered the town. I found that vast areas of this town are covered by such a zone and one goes through at least one of these signs on entry. The sign says - Controlled Zone Mon - Sat 0830-1800. Nothing else. The whole of the road network inside the zone has single yellow lines. Except a few marked bays which have no line and a sign saying 'Residents only parking Mon-Sat 0830-1800. This is self-explanatory.
Some of the town has double yellow lines. There are no additional signs identifying what 'rules' apply on the double yellow.
Clearly one can park on the single yellow line on a Sunday - and I did. What 'rules' apply to parking on the areas of double yellow in this situation - since the Parking Controlled zone only operates between Monday and Saturday - it told me so as I entered the town.
