Driving offence?
Hi
I recieved a letter from the police stating my vehicle was involved in an accident with a stationary car. Unfortunatley i was unaware that my car had hit the other car as there was no damage to my vehicle. However when i received the letter i went to see the vehicle and paint from my car had scraped onto the other car. I immediatley notified my insurance company and went to the police station to advise them of why i did not report or stop at the time of the accident. I am worried that the police will prosecute me even though i believe i did not know my car had hit the other car. As soon as i saw the damage on the other car i accepted fault and we have agreed to settle without the insurance companies.
Does this constitute to driving without due care and attention?
