if the idiot that put the ticket on your car cant even write the correct make on the ticket then it shows what sort if incompetent tw@t they are to start with. they only do that job cuz no one else will employ them, all on a power trip. if i was you i would defo complain and make the point that for this reason you class the ticket as invalid. good luck, dnt pay em!!!
The ticket is NOT valid....and you do NOT have to pay it.
I have a MINI ONE, and have got off with 4 parking tickets because they always put the make down as BMW MINI, which it is not. To be petty....and try my luck....I wrote a letter saying that I feel the ticket is invalid and I was not willing to pay......I have got off with it 4 times, the most recent time they sent me photos of the car but i simply wrote back saying yes its my car, but the ticket is still invalid....they sent me an apology and I told me they had cancelled the ticket. I know others with MINIS that have had the same and also got off with it. Yes its stingy but their fault for not knowing enough about cars I say :) <------big grin!!!
Admin errors do not invalidate parking tickets.
Was it private land or Council - real tickets that you have to pay will have the address of a court on them and will say 'Penalty Charge Notice'. Civil ones have the address of a private company and say something like 'Parking Charge Notice'.
If it is a private ticket, bin it. You do not have to ring them or quote legislation - just ignore it, along with any letters that follow, no matter how threatening they appear. Entering into discussion with them just shows they have a 'live one'.
Private tickets are based on contract law. To enforce them, they must prove there was a contract between you. Also note any contract is with the driver - NOT the registered keeper. Do not admit to being the driver under any circumstances.
If it is on Council land, pay up.
With regards to the Mini, in the previous response, I am guessing that was a private ticket. You would not get away with that if it was a proper parking ticket issued by a local authority.
