Labour’s Budget Part 2
There have been many posts on AB critical of the budget, particularly the loss of the £300 winter fuel payment to some pensioners.
But the current issue of Private Eye contains details of others who would suffer as a result of the cruel budget.
A case study in the Torygraph included a heart rendering tale of the budget’s impact on the 19th Earl of Derby and the 6th Earl of Carnarvon.
And four days before the budget, the Torygraph warned of the perils of earning £100,000 and that private jet passengers would pay £1,000 per long haul flight.
The Torygraph also ran a story of a grief stricken pensioner couple who had planned meticulously for their retirement, who would likely be hit hard by the budget having invested in 60 buy-to-let properties.
Perhaps AB could set up a hardship fund to help the poor unfortunates above, who are surely more deserving than any pensioners who missed out on £300.
