Am I alone in finding most musicians boring?

I find whenever Parky or someone interviews a musician, it is crushingly disappointing.

Love the art, can't stand the artist.

I have to agree they dont make good interviewees.Even my favorites have been either away with the fairies or just dead boring..And i find the most annoying to watch is Gene Simmons even though I am one of the worlds biggest KISS fans but he is just plain up his own arse annoying.

I'm lucky enough to have been in a position to have met and/or worked with quite a few well-known musicians. I can see why they'd make somewhat boring interviewees, even though the majority of them are very nice, sociable (interesting, even) people.

And that's just it. They are usually very ordinary men and women doing a job, viz. entertaining people with their music. It is not their job to make scintillating conversation, observed by several million people. Away from the performance arena, they're just like the rest of us. Sometimes I've been amazed at how 'invisible' they can be when the spotlight's not shining on them (sometimes I haven't even realised who I've met until someone's told me).

Sting was ok on Rossy a while back.

Seen Green Day interviewed, they were ok.

But I definitely see where you're coming from.

Did Sting manage to get a word in edgeways? Jonathan Ross just uses interviews as a way to show off.

Jonathan Ross either talks over them or just plain insults them with smutty innuendo he thinks is funny...And he seems to harp on a lot about gay men ..hmmm?

What about Thom Yorke - The guy's a genius but seems unable to hold a conversation on chat shows.
