Anyone remember 2 songs from 1970 called "Halfway To Where" and "Open Up Your Heart"? (They did not get into the charts, although they both had lots of airplays). I`m trying to find the names of the bands that performed them. The second one was by a band called (I think) "???..... Marzipan"; not sure of the first one at all. Any ideas? Thanks. 711.

There was a track titled "Halfway to Where" from around that time by Jefferson (Geoff Turton previously of the Rockin' Berries).

How about Moby Grape for "Open Up Your Heart" ???
Also "Halfway..." by The Freshmen

Hi Kempie. I can`t find a link to Jefferson (G.Turton) although he was recording at that time. However, you may have hit the jackpot with The Freshmen, as their CBS recording shows. All I have to do is get a copy of the record or the lyrics, to confirm. Well done! I`m certain that the other band I`m after is something".....Marzipan" Anyway, many thanks for your efforts. 711

Almond Marzipan! That`s it!! You`ve cracked it! well done - many thanks. 711
Hello, "Halfway To Where" is by The Freshmen & can be found on YouTube. Open Up Your Heart is by Almond Marzipan but unfortunately only the B side "Summer Love" appears to be uploaded. I still have the single & their follow-up "Marie Take A Chance".
