Its rare to here any drummer using the full kit the way Bev does, and its great to hear tracks where he works fully round the kit. Bev places a lot of energy into his drumming, whether live or on album, and its a great tribute to him to hear how much ELO have used his very distinct sound. I have the privilege of owning one of his drumsticks that he threw to the audience after a concert featuring a 10 minute drum solo. Bev rocks, and is one of the finest drummers I have ever heard.
Well, as a writer for 'Drummer' magazine, I have interviewed more drummers than you could shake your Bev Bevan stick at, and the perceived wisdom is the John Bonhma is the greatest rock drumer who ever lived.
It is a matter of opinion, but these are people who play for a living, and they know whom they like, who influenced them, who made them want to play as youngsters, and who's skill and technique still inspires them and -
it's Bonzo - every time the subject comes up.
But - if you think BB is the greatest, then he is - it's all opinions, yours no more or less valid than theirs - except to say I have never hear BB mentioned as an influence by anyone.

It's interesting that most people who choose a favourite musician usually choose them because they like the music the musician plays.
I totally admire Neil Peart as a musician, but I can't abide Rush's music.
For me, the perfect drummer for sheer instinctive playing has to be Brian Downey from Thin Lizzy, but my favourite band is Fleetwood Mac, and although MF is a fabulous player, he doesn;t do it for me like Mr Downey.
It does take all sorts.
