Acoustic guitar song

Can someone please help, my 16 son is learning the acoustic guitar and I seem to remember a fantastic song from my younger years - I am 40 ! I thought it was Del Amitri but after going through to various websites not so sure ! Remember it being an acoustic duet - both male and quite slushy - I am desperate for him to learn it. I thought it was late 80s but it may have been early 90s - this is what age does to you !!!! Be v. grateful if any body has any ideas ????
