Glastonbury Virgin

Yippeeeeeeee!!

A magazine wants me to go to Glastonbury for them!

Of course, I had to really ponder for a long time before I decided - about 0.000005 of a second!

So - as a Glastonbury Virgin, does anyone have any advice to give me about the Festival?

Unusually, I won;t be camping, or in the public arenas, as I will be interviewing and reviewing, but any advice on bits to see and avoid would be most welcome.

Congratulations on the job. I've only ever seen this on TV, but would love to go. It sounds very exciting and I hope you have a great time, apart from working whilst there, but well done.

well if youre not camping thats no fun, thats the best part!! Dont avoid any of it, get round as many stages as you can!! And try all the food and drinks

are people over 25 allowed in? I've never been, so can't help except to say take a brolly - they're predicting a monsoon (really)

a brolly???? Nah mac with hood will do, people tend to get a bit arsy if you have a brolley up infront of them while they are trying to see the stage. I went the year of the bad floods and our tent was ruined. But made the whole experience even funnier

Last time I saw them I spent a fair amount of time behind the DJ booth just watching them work.... Awesome :)

Don't bother with waterproofs ...

If it rains, you'll get soaked, no matter what you have with you. But once you're soaked, you can't get any wetter ... so just live with it.

But have some sort of wind blocking top layer (windcheater, pac a mac, etc) so you don't get chilled.

It sounds fab.

Have to admit I would love to have gone to galastonbury but I do think that it is now past the best years for it and it's now got too big and too commercialised.

Oh well will have to make do with V festival again thins year :)

Vibra, I went to V last year and really didn't think there was any problems with attitude there (it's also handy for me as I can be there in about 20min from home :))

Well done on getting the gig, Andy............you'll love it.

As 4get said........try to get around to as MANY stages as you can...which will help you to get those all important interviews and see as many artists as possible.
Yep.....try as much of the different styles of food and drink as you can, too.

Vibes, East Dance on Sat.....thats where i'll be on the Saturday, behind stage watchin' 2ManyDJs,Tongy, Pryda, Deadmau5, La Roux etc.....poppin' over to see Josh Wink, Hudson Mohawke, DJ yoda etc, in the West Dance too, in between.......really looking forward to it, as always a blast!................. wont be camping this year, Andy, but it is a great experience, with all the boggy fields and mud.....wellies getting stuck etc!.......hope you really enjoy it!

Stanton Warriors are deffo on my list..........soon as they hit the stage, i will get word and i'm there! :0)
Loads of great acts that night will try to see .....Springsteen, Dizzee Rascal, Lonnie Liston Smith on the jazz/funk stage, Badly Drawn Boy ( who i like a lot, and is such a nice bloke)

Waveform line up in September is pretty strong.............if it's at the Colosseum, no chance rain will spoil it at least, like Sunrise!
