when I play tracks on my new mp3 player each track skips off and on all the way through. the voice record and radio playback is fine.

any ideas?

It sounds like your mp3 player may be faulty. Return it to the place where you bought it. Let them test it if possible. Ask for a replacement or your money back unless they can fix the fault.
