When I used to hire or buy videos - on the cover would be a little symbol like a square with a tip to say that it was subtitled.

Now I have got a new DVD was wondering would anybody tell me what to look for to see if it has subtitles because so far one dvd had it and the other hadn't. TIA

Hi Murray - well looked at the two dvds that I have played both have subtitles but only one of the cover says it.
I think it is generally accepted English is available ..but listing includes French..Spanish etc etc
I've just grabbed a random handful of DVDs out of the drawer and they all offer subtitles in English and a few offer subtitles in other languages too.

thanks all - may have had a faulty one that didn't have the subtitles (a third dvd)
