Rewatching Dvds

For some bizarre reason that I simply cannot fathom I never open the drawer of DVDs and rewatch a film again. But I can watch repeated episodes of Poirot or reruns of Bond movies without batting an eyelid.

Do you have a stash of watched once only DVDs or do you watch and watch?

Yes, I buy the DVD's films I really enjoy, then rarely watch them.

If I look through them I never fancy watching any of them - but if they turn up on TV I will watch them even though I could have seen it a more convenient time that when it's on!

Thank goodness I'm not the only one:-)

It makes no sense that I will watch a film that is interrupted by adverts and is going to finish half an after I need to go and do something else.....when I have the DVD in the drawer :-(

Perhaps I'm a Luddite and prefer the limited choice that TV provides rather than a limitless selection that involves me making a decision?

We trade our unwanted DVD's into CEX for Cash or preferably a Voucher ( which is worth more).
We then buy New Releases or 2nd hand DVD's from them.
They give us a fair price for our old DVD's, better than Music Magpie !
We keep our best Films and watch them again at a later date

Most of my DVDs are just gathering dust, but there is one i watch at least once a month. The 7 hours of 'The Shadow Line'. Absolutely brilliant. I also have all 3 Godfather films on DVD - a Christmas present - which are still in the wrapper. Yet each time they are on tv..................................................

Some.Mainly series though .I've watched Brideshead Revisited loads of times along with Poldark and I Claudius .Sat through The Sopranos and The Wire twice and I have several films I can happily watch again and again .

I never watch them twice, and I have one on my shelf that I was bought for Xmas which still has the cellophane wrapper on!

I don't have a vast collection of dvd's but I do watch them over again....I've got a terrible memory so there's always something I'd forgotten. :)

We have loads of DVDs and make it a rule never to buy one that we don't think will bear repeated viewings.

Although, sometimes the choice is a little overwhelming and we end up watching 'Murder, she wrote' on the TV......again! :o)

i cant re-watch films until there has been an appropriate length of time inbetween viewings, most of my dvds are just dust catchers

Hi Eccles, I don't buy dvd's unless it's something pretty rare I know wont be shown on t.v. I too have a couple of dvd's still in sellophane bought me as Christmas presents. Of course I also have the option of watching a 'free' film / or buying a film from Virgin. I'm trying to de-clutter these days!

Having given it some thought the only video/DVD I can recall having chosen to rewatch is Edge of Darkness.

So why do I happily watch re runs of Midsomer Murder/Poirot/Miss Marple/Bond and suffer the adverts? Just confirms the absurdity of my existence :-)

I have a stash of my favourite films (regular Xmas presents) that I rarely watch however if those films come on TV I have to watch them whatever plans they interfere with. Odd.

Nope, never watched a film twice, be it DVD, tv, cinema.
Likewise, I've never read the book after seeing the film, although I've watched the film after reading the book on occasions.
I think I've only ever bought two DVDs, the rest of them have been bought for me as gifts.

i do, have a whole stash of dvd's, some get trotted out regularly, the entire 7 series of The West Wing gets an airing as do a number of good Dickens adaptations, and David Lean films, John Wayne classics, some are old uns but good uns, i am a film fan, over a long stretch of time, so will happily watch old black and white screwball comedies, best of which is The Philadelphia story with Cary Grant, and Bringing up baby, also with Cary Grant,
