Some Cheerful Music

OK, I know that plenty of people here seem to have no interest in music that doesn't come from either the UK or the USA, so not everyone will like this. (It's from Mexico).

Further, I know that not everyone here seems to enjoy watching talented kids.

However, for the small number remaining, I give you Los Bañales Juniors.

The oldest lad, Chuyito, must have been about 12 or 13 when this was recorded. He's a fine accordionist but, rightly, lead vocals go to his brother, Manuelito (approx 10 or 11 years old), who can play guitar as well.

However the real star of the show is the youngest brother, Moy (approx 8 or 9), who really drives the song along with his fine drumming.

They've appeared on national TV in the USA, and this video has 2.76 million views, so someone must like their music (even if there aren't many such people here!)

What I think I enjoyed most about that video, Gness, is that unlike videos of musically-gifted kids who're simply doing what their pushy parents want them to do, those three lads are clearly enjoying every single moment of their performance.

Exactly, Chris....they are so natural....just for the sheer enjoyment of it......and I love the face of the guitarist...just look at it in the still before the video starts....those eyes!

The young drummer reminds me of the great Gilson Lavis (who plays drums for Jools Holland). While many other fantastic drummers thrash around like Animal (in my avatar), he just sits there in his jacket and tie and makes the most complicated sets look incredibly easy. He's simply a natural musician. Young Moy Bañales seems to be similarly gifted.

Oh, Chris....I shall point him to this thread tomorrow....the other night we were outside his house and he was telling me a tale as he leaned against the lampost....I suggested I fetch his ukulele and he could sing his tale to me..... :-)

Is that a diatonic accordion? Used to have a piano-style one, but all buttons? That must be a challenge. I guess the fingers get used to it.
And the guitar - 10 strings? Never seen one before.
