I'm trying to organise the music for our Registry office wedding. (No religious music is allowed) Having been together for 13 yrs I have just realised we have totally different tastes in music, especially for our wedding!!! Its second time around for us both, but my fiance is very traditional. Because he wants it,I've settled for the wedding march to come in to the ceremony (wouldn't have been my choice!) and classical music for while the guests are coming in and taking there seats. But for coming back down the 'Aisle' after signing the register I'm really struggling to find something suitable. We do agree we don't like naff or cheesy stuff like Bryan Adams-everything I do and that kind of pop music but I would like something a bit contempory. I looked at some classical and couldn't find anything I liked and have listened to many modern songs from the last 40yrs and nothing has really struck me as suitable. Don't mind instrumental or classical if I can't find anything else. Someone suggested theme from Titanic but again I think thats a bit naff!!! Any suggestions grateful Thanks

I had Pachalbel's Canon at my wedding, my mate had Holst Jupiter Suite (instrumental World In Union), that was nice.

I really wanted Sadeness by Enigma but was talked out of it.
If you fancy something classical with a bit of an upbeat, what about William Orbit's version of Barbers Adagio for Strings:

I agree with Welshy, that is a great tune, modern and classical at the same time.
Aaron Copeland!

We had a civil wedding - we walked back down the "aisle" to the sounds of Monty Python "Look on the Bright Side"...... It was great, ideal for what we wanted!

Just a thought!

I got married in a registry office. There was no aisle!
If I ever get remarried I'll have this. It's aptly named A New Beginning and is one of my favourite pieces of all time:

I love Kings of leon, Use somebody...we had this track sang by a gospel choir at my daughters christening and it was absolutly beautiful as it has the lyrics in the middle..."someone like you..."
Modern but not slushy or cheesy and i have also heard classical versions done by traditional choirs and it sounds as good.
Hope that helps!
I am not sure who sings it, but you could have "from this moment"
what about "i'll leave this world lovin' you" by RickyShelton.
that should read ricky van Shelton.
My son had Sousa's Liberty Bell ( Monty Python Theme tune.)
A nice celebratory piece of music.
