My Q is: When you go to a nite club and the door men search your bag, as they do, and find cigarettes will they throw them away? Coz they throw away chewing gum...??

I know its not the same thing but they don't allow them in the club..

Of course they won't throw them away! You can have them in your bag to smoke later outside.
Why the heck do they throw away chewing gum anyway? Never heard of that before.

max, I have the chewing gum in my bag to chew later and they still get rid....i'll just have to wait and see.

I thought they threw gum away to avoid all the mess...goes too show how much I know then.

i've only had my bag searched once- there were loads of painkillers and pro plus in my bag and they didnt touch them. some were just lose in bottom of bag as well cuz they'd come out of the packsts.... i dont think they are allowed to do that anymore -and i cant imagine why they would throw chewing gum away!!

Because it damages clubs and gets stuck under tables and trodden in floor

i have never had cheqing gum thrown away before going into a club!
they certainly dont throw cigerettes away !!

They throw away chewing gum because people use it to disguise the fact that they have been taking drugs. Well the poor people who chew their face off that is....!!!!

I'v never had my bag searched going into a club. they have no right to stop you having those items in your bag. The only thing that i know of, that you can't take into a pub/club is open alcohol, as you need to purchese it on their premises.

I would ban chewing gum from my club if I had one, the stuff is gross!! haven't you seen the stuff stuck all over pavements every where you look, it should be banned along with smoking, I'm always finding bits of it stuck to tables seats etc, and the sight of a pretty girl chewing the stuff is repulsive!!!


You right door staff have no right to search you but they do have the right to refuse entry if you refuse a search!!

Rant over, now I will keep my head down for a while!!!

they throw chewing gum away at Brixton academy now they never used to I thought it was to stop the place getting messy sticking to the floor! its a bit stupid as everyone knows you can buy drugs in there anyway!

I've never heard of them throwing away chewing gum. Perhaps the bouncer wanted some to stop him chewing his own face off? Maybe they suspected you of hiding blotters in the chewing gum wrapper? They most certainly won't steal your fags though and I know that because I live in Scotland!

one of our local club throws away chewing gum if they find it, i put the packet in my bra , they take it if the club holds other events and they need it looking nice, our local club held the darts world championship and they needed it looking nice due to tv coverage etc they also hold kickboxing events etc , they also check fag packets and at one point you had to take in new unopened packs of fags
