You say they are limited edition drawings but if they are limited edition then they will most likely be prints. he would not have drawn the same picture over and over. The second thing is are they signed? I dont mean the copy of the signature on the drawing but there will be a limited edition number at the bottom of the print and that is where you will usually find the signature. This will add to the value. However I have googled this artist and there is little on the internet about him. I did find a gallery selling a couple of prints at around £150 each but if you are selling at auction you will usually expect to receive a very small percentage of gallery value. I dont want to be despondant but I regularly see signed limited edition prints selling for £10 to £20 each. I hope I am wrong about your prints and I do agree take them to a local auctioneer he will give you a free estimate of what he would expect them to bring. If they do go in a music sale they may bring more. I hope you have success with them and I am wrong

Thanks again to all who replied. Mclarencat - yes i agree with your comments. I just got blinded by the fact that my folks paid quite a lot for them and over the years bought 10+. No one in the family are opera buffs, so it seemed ideal to sell them and raise some cash for funeral expenses. Will try local auctioneers.
