typical your generation retort (see I can generalise too) i got better things to do now i have said my piece....
As i said earlier the whole divorce by fax wasnt strictly true and was embelished by the papers, heres an extract:-
Collins met his second wife, Jill Tavelman, in 1980. They were married from 1984[59] to 1996. They had one daughter, named Lily Collins, who was born in 1989.[60] Collins openly admits that some of their divorce-related correspondence was by fax (one, about access to their daughter, was reproduced in The Sun), but denies that this took her by surprise.[57] Collins paid Jill £17M as final settlement.[58]

We cant all like the same music and im glad about that!
mickrog, to be fair you don't know what my "generation" is.. but I'll never be old enough to appreciate PC's music.

really, I'd expect PC's fans to have a sense of humour..

actually, I wouldn't!
Even if she was dumped by fax I'm sure the £17million he paid her more than made up for it
The original wife was devastated and the kids were teenagers. Not nice when a 15y is wrenched from the only friends he'd grown up with.
Mickrog....don't be fooled by sara's avatar

She's actually a 20 stone trucker called Trevor
I always think its best to judge a muscial artist on their music not their personal lives? Im sure we could all find imperfections about anyone, no ones perfect!
I like some of Phil Collins' music, especially his Face Value album, and I'm 53 by the way. I have to admit though his recent motown album was pants.
For the record, he didn't dump his wife by fax - total urban myth...
and JoeLuke wears pink and has a bushy moustache, and loves The Communards and Village People.
I keep saying that Mark, no one listens!!
thanks sara - i guessed that joeluke is gay
Touché sara!

Didn't you have some knitting to do love?
WuTang, he isn't ready for that kind of statement.. yet ;o)
I don't know how to knit.. maybe you could teach me cross-stitch sometime?

sorry Chris, for going off-track. PC is still pants, btw ;o)
but he does protest too much
because it's namby-pamby nothing music, and his voice is not at all interesting.. in my opinion :o)
He was touring when she heard. The son was in pieces and my outhouse became the bands new studio. I think the son was called Michael ?

Allegedly - I dont wanna be sued :)
I agree that Phil Collins most recent album " Going Back" an album of Motown cover's wasnt to my liking apart from the title track, That said though, i have to take my hat off to him for attempting it and for using the rather brilliant Funk Brother's musicians where he could (sadly, the majority have died now) on the recordings and live performances. It was his love of Motown that inspired him to do this record.
