This Ivor Novello song appeared in the film 'Gosford Park'. Can anyone help with its origin - was it from one of Novello's musicals, and if so, which one, please.

Thanks in advance.

jubilee,
sorry I have no magical answer for you except to say it doesn't seem to have it's origins in any of his musicals .. scroll to the bottom of this link under heading .. Ivor Novello musicals and Operettas .. it will give you a list of songs for each. http://uk.ask.com/wik...orous_Night?qsrc=3044

Thanks for your effort. I came up against the same brick wall. I know Novello wrote songs other than within his musicals, (Rose of England, Keep the home fires, etc.) but Land of Might-have-been seems to be of a quite different type.

Thanks anyway.
Wasn't it originally a number by Buck's Fizz?
(or was the Land Of Make-Believe....?)
