i avoid them if at all possible, i think the last one was a catholic wedding, my partner at the time one of his friends. so the wedding went on forever but the "do" afterwards was fun
Went to a posh one at Belton Woods near Grantham this February. The bride was my daughter's childhood friend. It was lovely. I got rather addled and ended up bruised on the dance floor, but that usually happens at weddings. I do the 'Uncle dancing badly at a wedding' act extremely convincingly ;-)
The last wedding I went to was my own, the last one before that was my own, and before that it was about 30 years ago. It was my cousins wedding, all I can remember is it peed it down all day and we had to stay in the childrens bit in the pub while everyone else was having fun :-(
I went to a really strange one in November. Got the invite Friday evening for the wedding on Sunday. Thought they had just forgotten us but turns out that everyone got their invites on Friday evening.
Normal church service....big wedding dress etc...then to the football club. No food...no music...and the football club closed at 7pm.
I think they were a bit skint and needed to make a few quid...lol
We went to a workmates reception in October, they had got married on a little island in the Dominican Republic so had a party as well when they got home.
Also going to an old workmates in July which I am really looking forward to.
Went to one on Friday and that was lovely. The sun shone, the bride looked beautiful, the groom devastatingly handsome and as for the bridesmaids they too were lovely. Great, and nice to see someone making a commitment.
welcome Rowetta..... Don't really enjoy weddings...a lot of expense and there always seems to be one lot who are not speaking to the other and later..after a few drinkies...some bitching/arguing etc.... just run away do it and tell me after !!! LOL
Invited to 7 weddings this year - all high falutin weddings - I did not go - although since receiving invitations have to make an effort with a card and some money in them. Last Sat was at a party and could not believe I have been invited to another 2 next year - God I cant stand them - cos I know in a few years time the majority of them break up.
last wedding I went to was a gay wedding [ladies] one which we have known since she was 3 yrs old had a naming ceremony for their twin boys who were then about 18months old.at the same time.
It was in a very posh country house in Suffolk, veggy food out of this world I didnt know that veggy food could be soooo good, there was a piper and we danced Scottish reels in honour of her late grandmother. It must have cost her dad an absolute fortune but it was the best wedding I have ever been to.
I had my neices wedding 2 weeks ago very fancy and expensive it was, but everything and everybody was beautiful. Church then hotel for meal and dancing later fab day. Roll on next one 18th june another in july then august then november 5 this year that's what happens when all neices and nephews are about same age.

In answer to your question , i have not been to a wedding in years the last one was an old work friend and if im honest it was quite dull.
