the smallest thing can make you fly into a rage...

Dont rise to it!
I don't think agoraphobia or depression counts as crazy. Perhaps using the word is a little insensitive in the circumstances but I think you are reading too much into it.

Of and yes, adolescence is a fraught time when you and parents just don't seem to agree on anything. It'll pass in time, the secret is not to take it too much to heart.

This sounds like a minor row. Put your favourite (calming) music on and chill. Best bet I think.
annie. I've just seen this. I know (from experience) that for some people, anyone with any sort of mental health problem can be quite scary, and for people who've never experienced it, they have no idea what anxiety and depression, and agoraphobia, feels like to the sufferer - I can't tell you how many people just hinted that I should get a grip (which you can't at the time). I could well be that your mom just doesn't understand it and finds it scary and doesn't know how to deal with it. Would she come to the doctor with you next time you have to go, so he could explain a bit to her?
Annie-there are lots of books about depression and agoraphobia. They helped me a lot when I was much younger, and going through a very bad patch. If you can get one-from the library,or buy-try to get your mum to read it. It will go a long way to help her understand what you are going through. You are not 'crazy',and it's unkind of your mum to say that....even if she may think it's a joke.
I should also mention that I saw your question on herbal supplements that might help.
A good high dose vitamin B supplement is your best bet. The B vits along with magnesium help to control the central nervous system, among other things.
Here's an article that may help you.... http://depression.abo...cs/diet/a/vitamin.htm

Annie-here is the book I used-it is a 'classic' and very helpful.
You may be able to find it in the library if you can't order it.

I hope you see this as I was not able to post sooner.
I don't think you're crazy, insane or a lunatic, just misunderstood. If I were you, I'd just apologise anyway. That's what I do. I think your niece likely only said that because she didn't know better.
