where have i heard that before. There is a piece of music i know, it is from a ballet
and sounds just like a piece in the film Billy Elliot, unless of course it is it.
I dont have the soundtrack to look it up. But I know that some authors, composers do plagarise
Any you know...
If you look up 'Billy Elliott' in Google one of the results should be on a website called 'imdb' (internet movie database). Go into that one and click on 'music' which should list the music used in the film.
Next go to YouTube and type in which piece you suspect it may be. When you find it you could maybe add a comment on the relevant YouTube video asking what similar ballet piece it is like (if it's not actually that piece, that is).
Another way is to play the music over your speakers (hopefully your computer is plugged into your hi-fi) - then dial '2580' on your phone (which is the no. for Shazam).
Shazam 'listens' to the music for 20 sconds and automatically hangs up. Then you get a text with the name of the music. It costs £1 (unless Shazam doesn't recognise it when they don't charge). I don't know if Shazam works with classical music though.
i looked up the film soundtrack on imdb and couldn't see it, but sure its the same. its by glazunov, from a ballet, so will maybe dig out the film, or have a look on youtube.
as suggested.
i have watched parts of the film to see if its the same or just something that sounds similar. One where he is in the gym and his father comes in and Billy dances to this wonderful piece, and its the same music i think, when he is being interviewed for the Royal Ballet school. If its not the same as the Glazunov piece i keep hearing, its pretty similar.
