Sainsbury's have got some corkers in atm and The Whole Bunch Rousanne (SA) is no exception. The Rousanne is pressed using the "Whole bunch" method and this has produced a wine that's exceptionally clean and fresh on the palate with lingering flavours of tropical fruit and underlying nuances of herbal infusions. Class in a glass, I tell thee!
Priced at £9.99 and probably available for a limited period only. At a whopping 14.5%, you will certainly know you've had a glass.
Sounds great NoM, 14.5% is really full bodied. Unfortunately cannot get to Sainsbury's as nearest one is 40 miles away !
Never mind I will look in Waitrose on Saturday.
It's a really classy white and I may treat myself to a bottle over the weekend. I tend to prefer chilled white in the warmer weather and warming reds in the winter time.
The sainsburys own brand, cheap as chips sauvy is really, really nice! I am now buying it as my preferred choice at the moment. Although I mistakenly brought the chien blanc on friday and that was ok.
My friend brought a bottle of red round on saturday which was yummy and I've saved the label but it's at home but buggered if I can recall what it's called.
Thanks for that, Snag. I'll definitely try that one.
I had an amazing Californian Old Vine Zinfandel in Southampton the other week. It wasn't on the menu, I just happened to ask the waiter if he had any in his cellar and he had 2 bottles ( I only drank one... honest!). I wish I could remember the name of it.
Now I've not tried the Kumala range - I must get round to it.
Sainsbury's have discontinued the Essenze Pinot Gris (NZ) so I'm on the lookout for a replacement for that one. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Rather than start another thread: JTH, if you read this, could I possibly have your recipe for Lamb Tagine? I tried Anthony Worrall Thompson's recipe which was far too tomatoey for my taste. I have just the right hearty red lined up to go with a Lamb Tagine!
